HAY NEWS - KITCHEN MARKET, RESULT CHIAR, CHART ART

This Spring, HAY launches many new products and concepts. For the first time ever, we see HAY look back in time and reissue an iconic design from the 1950s with the re-release of the Result chair and Pyramid table. Expanding on the Mini Market concept launched in 2015, HAY also launches the Kitchen Market – a collection of the most essential tools for today’s kitchen curated by Mette Hay together with the Danish head chef at Atelier September, Frederik Bille Brahe. Finally, HAY expands into a new category with the launch of its first print collection in collaboration with the CHART ART FAIR.

INTRODUCING RESULT & PYRAMID // Created to be adaptable, light and strong, the Result Chair and Pyramid Tables were originally created by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld while working at Ahrend in the 1950s, and has now been relaunched by HAY together with Ahrend. When initially launched in the ‘50s, they were regarded as a triumph in their innovative use of sheet steel, and were typically used in Danish schools throughout the 1960s and 70s. Their clean aesthetics and durability mean they can be used in many public and private contexts. With the relaunch, the collection has been expanded to include a bench seat and round table.

Together, Mette and Frederik combined their diverse backgrounds and shared passion for design to create a collection based on function that is relevant for people in all stages of life. Many products are found from around the world, like handmade glasses from Morocco, water pitchers from India, sponges from Japan and soap from France, but everything has been reconsidered or reinvented for the collection. The collection includes everyday kitchenware like pots, pans, graters, cutting boards and peelers, as well as plates, cups, glasses and cutlery.

HAY CHART POSTERS // HAY and CHART ART FAIR have joined forces to launch a new series of artists´ posters, printed in Copenhagen. The series is curated by CHART and includes 14 works by contemporary artists participating at CHART. The collection was launched at the CHART ART FAIR in September 2017, and is now available at HAY stores and distributors around the world.

The HAY Kitchen Market was first launched in June 2017 at the HAY House in Copenhagen, as part of the 3 Days of Design festival.

The Kitchen Market includes colourful shaped sponges that make washing the dishes a little bit more fun. They come in a variety of playful designs, including this little cat.

Expert glass artist Jochen Holz has created this glass Jug for the HAY Kitchen Market. It is made from borosilicate glas so it is extra heat resistant and dishwasher safe. Also available in green and clear, in two sizes.

With its traditional teapot shape, HAY's Water Kettle is made with stainless steel and features a stay-cool plastic handle and knob for easy lifting.
