TDF OPEN HOUSE 2017

After a two-year hiatus, Lucy Feagins and her team at The Design Files have brought back the TDF Open House! Staged within a lofty, light-filled warehouse in Melbourne's Collingwood, TDF Open House was open for four days and presented the works of 60+ local creatives in a shoppable custom-designed pop-up space - celebrating the best in Australian design, including furniture from our own collection NAU.

First launched in 2011, the premise behind TDF Open House is to present the 'ultimate Australian home' in a unique setting built from scratch, and showcase the very best in Australian design, art and handcrafted homewares.

This year, the TDF Open House was staged within a lofty, light-filled warehouse space in Melbourne's Collingwood, and featured an expansive custom-designed open-plan layout with living, dining, bedroom, bar and outdoor spaces. The space was brimming with unique artwork, design pieces, handcrafted homewares and furniture from some of Australia’s most talented creatives and design brands, including our own Australian design brand NAU.

Following the launch of our brand NAU earlier this year, we we're incredibly proud to partner with The Design Files for TDF Open House 2017 and showcase furniture designs by our collective of Australian designers. It was so thrilling to see our designs styled so beautifully by such a clever creative team. Our highlights include the Aran Bed in deep terracotta, which is now available in a King Single size (perfect for children's bedrooms), along with introducing the Bilgola Outdoor collection for the first time.

Taking its colour cues from the Dulux 2018 Colour Forecast, Open House featured a directional palette with terracotta, pale pink and tangerine tones. For the first time, a program of casual speaker events were hosted adjacent to the main event, with an inspiring line-up of local makers, stylists, and small business operators sharing their wisdom to sell-out crowds.

A huge congratulations to Lucy and The Design Files team for pulling off such an incredible project, and creating such a unique platform to showcase the best in Australian design.
