In our last post for MDW17, we share our top seven highlights from Fuorisalone, the various districts around Milan where brands present immersive installations in unique settings.
1. WALLPAPER* PRESENTS HOLY HANDMADE
The theme for the magazine’s yearly salute to craftsmanship and design is around rituals, religiosity and divinity; aptly named Holy Handmade! Located in a spectacular former church on Via della Moscova, and boasts real heavyweights of design. Opening on the 4th, this non- denominational temple to design is due to be one of the best editions yet.
2. STONE AGE FOLK BY CAESERSTONE AND JAIME HAYON

Hayon has designed several beautiful one-off furniture pieces using the Caeserstone collection, along with a dazzling architectural pavilion inspired by the Crystal Palace built in Hyde Park. Referencing flora, fauna and folklore, the pavilion is made with over 48 colours of Caesarstone stained glass in red, yellow and purple tones and black frame work.
3. MINDCRAFT17 TIME
MINDCRAFT is an exhibition concept showcasing some of Denmark's most talented craftspeople and designers. The curated exhibitions demonstrate the qualities, potentials and versatility of new Danish craft and design. This year, the exhibition design and curation is by Henrik Vibskov and explores the concept of TIME. Inspired by the stunning location at San Simpliciano, more than 40 rounded shapes upholstered in Moraine fabric by the Bouroullecs set the backdrop to showcase the work of 18 makers and designers selected to take part this year.
4. PP MOBLER AT MC SELVINI
MC Selvini is a fourth-generation showroom space tucked away in Milan’s Porta Venezia area. First to introduce Danish design to Italy in the ‘40s, this beautifully curated showroom space feels more like a museum – the perfect setting to showcase PP Mobler’s collection of iconic designs.
5. MASKS BY GAMFRATESI AT KVADRAT
The Kvadrat showroom is the centre stage of masks by GamFratesi, celebrating the new colours of Canvas, Zulu and Steelcut Trio by Giulio Ridolfo and his new textile extensions.
6. A MATTER OF PERCEPTION – LINKING MINDS EXHIBTION

7.THE VISIT BY STUDIO PEPE
A curated space to visit by appointment only by Studio Pepe, The Visit is more than just a place.
