TOP THREE PICKS FROM SALONE SATELLITE

The SaloneSatellite exhibit brings together the most promising young designers from leading design schools and universities from around the world with industry suppliers and talent scouts that visit or exhibit at the Salone del Mobile. Since its launch in 1998 the Satellite serves as an unparalleled observatory of young international creativity with many of the prototype pieces presented later going into production. Here, we share our top three highlights from the SaloneSatellite exhibition.

1. ALUR CHAIR BY TANGGAM

This elegant design is inspired by the natural world. The frame’s graceful lines are inspired by naturally flowing systems of rivers, branches and veins, and the rattan seat adds a tactile dimension to the design.

2. LIGHTING BY EARNEST STUDIO

Founded by American-born, Netherlands-based designer Rachel Griffiths, Earnest Studio creates sculptural lighting that explores the themes of materiality and modularity. We love the simplicity and fine details of these designs, an absolute standout!

3. FLOE & LATTICE BY DAISUKE KITAGAWA

Based in Japan, Daisuke Kitagawa is the founder of DESIGN FOR INDUSTRY. At the SaloneSatellite exhibition, Kitgawa presented several designs based around the theme of ‘Scenery’. Our picks include the Floe table with its beautiful reflective surface and the Lattice cabinet for its unique grid detailing.
