At Stand #706 at DENFAIR 2018, we were proud to partner with Danish design brand Montana to present its acclaimed modular shelving system with a vibrant display inspired by its recent exhibit at Salone del Mobile 2018, which was awarded ‘Best Use of Colour’ by Frame Magazine. A host of news, including 2018 novelties direct from Milan, are on show, including the Montana Free free-standing shelving system by Jakob Wagner.

Montana’s 2018 novelties are shown against an inspiring backdrop of Montana units in vivid orange, red and pink hues, showcasing the endless possibility for customisation with the brand’s collection of units which comprises of 36 modules, 4 depths, 42 colours and a wide variety of special modules and components, that can be configured like Lego into custom solutions for all environments.

Complementing Cult’s existing collection of prominent Danish design brands, Montana is not only a family-owned furniture company with a rich history, but one of the few brands that has kept both design and production in Denmark. Montana was founded in 1982 by its current lead designer, Peter J. Lassen who since the 1950s had worked closely with the grandfathers of Danish design, including Arne Jacobsen, Jørn Utzon, Piet Hein and Verner Panton. Lassen’s work with these designers is reflected in his idiom for simplicity combined with functionality and has inspired the subsequent launch of several of their pieces in the Montana collection.

Montana’s bright colour palette carries on Verner Panton’s legacy as one the most colourful designers of his time. Made in collaboration with colour expert Pernille Kaagaard it consists of 7 colour families with environmentally friendly, water-based lacquer colours.

Montana launches a brand new, elegant and minimalistic freestanding shelving system, Montana Free, designed by the Danish designer Jacob Wagner. Montana Free adds itself to the well-known classic design icon Montana, embodying a design philosophy built on the freedom to change and express your personality. Montana Free takes Montana’s vision and storage leadership to new heights. The new freestanding shelving system adds a new dimension to the already versatile Montana System offering endless opportunities. The system consists of 12 standard compositions that you can choose with an optional interposed shelf.

Montana adds a new shade to the versatile and well-known Panton Wire shelving system designed by Danish designer Verner Panton in 1971. The colour has been named Dark Chrome and along with a new dark marble top it makes a minimalistic, dark statement in the home. Eternally versatile, Panton Wire can be used as a bookshelf, coffee table or even as a room divider offering a light and airy solution to create separate areas in a large room.
