NAU AT DENFAIR 2019

With the fifth edition of DENFAIR just around the corner, we’re so excited to announce that our Australian design brand, NAU, will return to present its all-new 2019 collection.

With new designs across three locations at DENFAIR and five of the NAU collective attending, here, we give you a run down of all the details you’ll need to make the most of NAU during Australia’s biggest curated design event of the year.

NAU STAND #602//

With a palette of earthy greens, deep burnt oranges and calming neutrals, stand #602 will present our 2019 collection in a private, contemporary space. Here, you'll find new designs by Adam Goodrum, Kate Stokes, Adam Cornish and Tom Fereday, as well as the recent Mercedes-Benz Design Award winner, Stack, by our newsest NAU creative, Zachary Hanna.

Visitors will be able to experience the new collection in person AND in augmented reality, with a dedicated augmented reality zone, where we invite you to design your own interior with the entire NAU collection using the NAU AR app - our 3D Augmented Reality app for iOS.

2019 COLLECTION PREVIEW//

Stack by Zachary Hanna/Winner of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Design Awards, Stack combines the functionality of several living room objects into one simple yet refined product - a lamp, a bookshelf and a side table. Crafted from solid natural timber with seamlessly integrated wiring, Stack is a thoughtful, timeless and unique object that simplifies home-living. Its sculptural plywood shade creates soft, diffused light, gently illuminating its strong and defined structure. Stack is available in oak, ash and walnut finishes with a black stained timber shade.

SIA Upholstered by Tom Fereday// Named after its unique adjustable backrest, SIA, meaning movement, is a lightweight timber chair that is slender in design yet uncompromising in comfort. Shaped from solid natural timber, the curved seat and articulated back is contrasted by a minimal steel frame that supports the sculptural timber elements and allows for a convenient stackable design. SIA was the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Design Award Winner, officially launched at DENFAIR last year. Now, SIA returns to DENFAIR in an upholstered version, with Medina Lacquer fabric by Mokum.

Strand Upholstered by Adam Cornish/The philosophy behind Strand is that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts; each component works with the other to create pieces that rely solely on their unison. Inspired by the vintage steel furniture from the 1950s, the collection is made from simple, tactile materials, chosen for their honesty and ability to age with dignity. Taking cues from braided steel cables, three aluminium ‘strands’ work in unison to create the outline of the design. Quaint, intricate and tactile, Strand is humble enough for homes and cafes, yet strong and ergonomically suited to commercial applications. At DENFAIR 2019, NAU will present the new fully upholstered Strand chair in Mokum Medina Lacquer.

Sofala by Adam Goodrum// Named after a small town in New South Wales with soft, rolling green hills, Sofala is an inviting modular sofa, characterised by its smooth curves and versatile modules that allow for a range of  comfortable configurations. With distinctive piping detail and a welcoming aesthetic, Sofala is suitable for both commercial and residential environments. First launched at DENFAIR 2018, the re-imagined Sofala returns with a new 150-degree corner module, allowing for a wider range of formations, upholstered in Mokum Topiary.

CHAMELEON BY NAU STAND #1208//

Last year at ORGATEC in Germany, NAU launched Chameleon, a commercial table concept designed by Adam Goodrum. At DENFAIR 2019, Chameleon returns to the spotlight, for the first time in Australia, in a conceptual installation imagined by Adam Goodrum.

The Chameleon by NAU stand invites DENFAIR goers to explore the structural uniqueness of the Chameleon in an immersive encounter.

Named after its ability to cleverly adapt to its environment, Chameleon is an agile structure that takes commercial configuration to new levels. Its range of articulated features are a product of extensive engineering, offering limitless dimensional, typological and aesthetic table solutions with a singular design language.
