OBJECTS IN FRITZ HANSEN ATELIER

Republic of Fritz Hansen unveils 'Objects'; a new accessories line of 12 items for the home, created by Danish and international designers, including Studio Rosso, Wednesday Architecture and Jaime Hayon. Like the furniture from Fritz Hansen, ‘Objects’ is a statement that can add a touch of Nordic lifestyle and playfulness to your home.

Fritz Hansen transforms its new Milan showroom to an 'Aterlier' during Milan Design Week to present 'Objects' - a new accessories collection that exudes beauty and simplicity in an array of subdued tones such as sand, earth and stone. For this new venture, the Danish heritage brand has partnered with leading designers, including Jaime Hayon StudioWednesday Architecture and Studio Rosso

Each of the 'Objects' has a story of its own. Jaime Hayon’s vase, in glass and brass, has slots for individual stems so that flowers can be appreciated individually as well as in a bunch. A series of cushions with knitted covers features designs by Arne Jacobsen, while Studio Roso’s mirror is an imposing oval, gold-rimmed steel plate. The Shaker-inspired trays are crafted with exactly the same materials and attention to detail as the Ant chair and the Series 7 chair.

‘In creating Objects, we reflected on our rich heritage, and we also reached out to Danish and international contemporary designers to continue our history. The collection begins with twelve objects but will develop over time, as new items for the home will be added to the accessories line,’ says Christoffer Back, Director, Fritz Hansen Objects.

The elements in the Objects series offer more than an alluring appearance. They have a way of engaging your senses. For example, when you inhale the soothing scent of cedar wood and touch the surface, the experience will, in turn, touch you.

You can experience the 'Atelier' at Fritz Hansen showroom from 12-17 April at Piazza S. Simpliciano, 20121 Milan.

'Objects' will soon be available across Cult's showrooms in Australia and New Zealand.

New takes on mirrors is a big trend in Milan and this is Studio Roso’s mirror - an imposing oval, gold-rimmed steel plate. Studio Roso has developed an innovative technique to achieve a magical rainbow-like effect on the discs.
The Spanish designer Jaime Hayón has contributed with several items for OBJECTS, including this interpretation of the classical chamber candle holder, which dates back to the late 1700. His interpretation in solid brass is simple elegance and beauty by itself or in a group.

Jaime Hayón has designed two beautiful vases made out of blown glass in a smoke colour and with a massive, untreated cedar ring in the bottom. Contrasting elements meet and create a unique and harmonious look, with or without the wooden base.

Even the packaging for 'Objects' for Fritz Hansen is empeccable.

Ikebana is Japanese for making flowers live. The beautiful vase is made of blown glass and a freestanding brass structure that holds the flower. Designed to honor and enjoy the whole flower and not just the crown.

Vertigo means spinning around, and quite fittingly that is the feeling you get when looking intensively at the knitted pattern of the pillow, originally designed by Arne Jacobsen. To keep them in perfect shape, the cushions are filled with Fossflakes.
