The softness and design of the John-John sofa in a bed with remarkable potential. Jean-Marie Massaud designs the John-John Bed instilling it with a relaxed and natural elegance. The two large, comfortable headboard cushions recall the characteristic backrest of the sofa in terms of the elegant dynamism of the surfaces.
The delicate and subtle folds obtained thanks to the meticulous hand-processing enhance the tactility of the leather. The structure of the John-John Bed headboard is made from solid beech and poplar with MDF infill and padding in polyurethane foam. The cushions are padded in goose down and polyester wadding and attached to the structure by the Pelle Frau® leather upholstery. The bed frame is made from solid beech and poplar with padding in polyurethane foam and is designed to accommodate an ad hoc bed surface consisting of a series of beechwood slats that are fixed to the central crossbar. The Poltrona Frau® slat kit is available in two versions, rigid or with adjustable lower back support. Feet in aluminium with Ruthenium finish. John-John Bed is upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather.
The John-John beds are available with either fabric or leather back and sizes such as 160cm, 170cm, and 180cm.
Architect, designer and inventor, Jean-Marie Massaud seeks to only create designs that question established expectations and subvert trends and preconceptions.
Born in Toulouse, France in 1966, he graduated from the École Nationale Supérieur de Création Industrielle - Les Ateliers, Paris in 1990.
He founded Studio Massaud in 2000 with Daniel Pouzet and His approach is centred on the search for a pure aesthetic, where the individuals’ needs are always paramount.
To date, he has worked for prestigious companies such as, Offecct, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau and Cassina, and luxury brands Armani, Lancôme and Baccarat. In 2000 he founded Studio Massaud with Daniel Pouzet and orientated his activity towards architectural projects alongside furniture and industrial products design.
Although most well known for his furniture designs, such as the Outline easy chair for Cassina, the Archibald A easy chair for Poltrona Frau, the Bond chair for Offecct and the Jackie bed for Poltrona Frau, the studio has also reinvented the architectural brand images of Lancôme and Renault and has directed large-scale projects such as: the Tanabe House (Fukuoka, Japan), a 50,000 seat stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico.
