In Chinese, the word 'zhuang' means to guard something precious. The collection of Zhuang containers, designed by Neri & Hu, consists of a series of small treasure chests with a minimalist and ultra contemporary design.
Two circular and oval stackable boxes covered with a saddle-leather lid. Each box is formed in turn by a stack of four trays which, held together by the brushed aluminium base in matt natural brass, can be pulled out one by one. The collection is completed by two large trays in the same shape. The Zhuang boxes and trays can be used freely in the various areas of the home, from the living room to the entrance and the bedrooms, to store both valuable objects or everyday items. The practical handle is a nod to the classic stackable containers used every day in Asia and suggests a new domestic ritual.
All containers in the Zhuang collection are made from solid Noce Canaletto (Canaletto walnut), carved from a single piece by numerically controlled machinery, and finished with a Cuoio Saddle Extra leather belt in the colours Carbone (Carbon) and Cammello (Camel). The saddle-leather is embellished with very fine stitching, usually seen in leather goods, with slightly contrasting yarn and the branded Poltrona Frau logo.
