The Fidelio bench, which enriches an already lavish collection, is a seat of great formal purity that allows the intrinsic beauty of the materials to speak for themselves. The warm intensity of the saddle-leather marries with the richness of the solid wood; the elegant folds and visible stitching of the surfaces offset the minimal lines of the base, obtained through the expert and painstaking crafting of the wood.
With the Fidelio bench, designer Roberto Lazzeroni achieves a formal and noteworthy balance. The understated design, the precision of the lines and the consistency of every minimal detail give it a relaxing, calming appearance. Slightly concave, the Fidelio seat exudes comfort while maintaining its rigour. The perfect element for the bedroom, visibly minimalist, the bench can easily be combined with all Poltrona Frau beds, including the biggest and boldest models. Its discreet design, sophisticated details and defined personality make it highly versatile. The upholstery is in saddle-leather with tone-on-tone or contrast stitching. The structure is made from solid ash with a wenge or moka stain and triangular cross-section.
Roberto Lazzeroni lives and works in his home town of Pisa. After completing studies in art and architecture in Florence, he chose conceptual art as his focus began creating work that had a more radical approach to design. In the early 1980s he took commission in both industrial and interior design, a specialisation he defines as fundamental to his overall practice. Today Roberto works in the business of design, art directing and shaping corporate identity. His studio is directly responsible for every aspect linked to the birth and development of a firm. At the same time he is also developing new furniture designs for the leading manufacturers in Europe, including Poltrona Frau.
