Stylish and modern coffee table
A Volther icon
The Danish designer Poul M. Volther has with his great sense for details and the quality of his craft has marked his role as one of the top Danish furniture designers. In extension to one of his most acknowledged designs, The Corona chair, Volther also designed the stylish Corona coffee table.
Minimalistic and modern
The Coffee table beautifully accompanies the Corona chair, but it can also work as a side table. As with the Corona chair, this coffee table is made with legs of stainless steel that carries a top made of either hardened glass or solid laminate. Both of these create a minimalistic and modern expression.
Stringent and gaudy
Like the Corona chair, the table will never go out of style. Therefore, the coffee table is very usable in both the private home and in the office. It is a design that fits perfectly in an interior decoration that focusses on classic Scandinavian lines. But, because of the chair’s stringent design, it can also be used in a gaudier decoration to create a contrast.
Poul M. Volther designed the Corona chair for Erik Jorgensen in 1961. The frame of the original model was produced in solid oak in very small numbers. The following year the chair was given the look it has today, with a frame in spring steel and concentric shapes that appear to be freely suspended.
