Lex Pott for HAY’s round Perforated Tray uses hundreds of tiny circular holes to create a structured effect. Lex Pott is Dutch designer and graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven (2009), who now operates a studio in the outskirts of Amsterdam. He prefers to work with high-quality wood, stone and metal, often taking a layered approach to design projects. He has a natural intuition to experiment with materials and to undertake extensive research in his work. A number of his designs are notable for unlikely combinations of techniques and materials. For HAY, he has created the Pivot shelf and the Iso hook, products that incorporate elemental shapes into resolutely functional objects.
