The Alder Stool by Patricia Urquiola is made in biodegradable Matek in a mix of biodegradable plastic with either coffee shell or wood waste. This means that the Matek can eventually decompose back into nature. The Alder Stool is available in four biodegradable Matek variants: Biodegradable Beige, Light Green, Earth Grey, or Terracotta.
The collection is designed for indoor and outdoor use.

Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain. She studied at the Faculdad de Arquitectura de Madrid and the Politecnico di Milano, where she graduated with a thesis having Achille Castiglioni as supervisor. In 1993 he opened an associate studio with M. De Renzio and E. Ramerino, dealing with architectural design, interiors, showrooms and restaurants. From 1996 to 2000 she coordinated the design group of Studio Lissoni Associati. In 2001 she founded a personal studio, devoting herself mainly to design, fittings and architecture.
