Designed by French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Pier System is a multifunctional storage system developed to accommodate and adapt to modern lifestyle requirements. Featuring a flat-pack design that is easy to assemble, reconfigure and recycle, the simple construction provides a flexible shelving solution for organising and storing a multitude of items. Constructed from lightweight aluminium and steel using the minimum number of components required to create a complete storage system, Pier System is available in a variety of colours and set configurations that can be combined with each other. Elements that are part of these configurations can be moved around as needed and desired, enabling the user to incorporate work, wardrobe or organisational functions into most rooms and environments, from living rooms and bedrooms to entrance halls and office areas.

Lightweight aluminium and steel

Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec were born in Quimper, France respectively in 1971 and 1976. As soon as Ronan graduated from the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs, he began working alone, progressively assisted by Erwan, still a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Cergy Pontoise. Their collaboration is a constant dialogue, nourished by their single identities and strived towards a common goal. They met Giulio Cappellini in 1997, while showing the Disintegrated Kitchen at the Salon du Meuble in Paris. This was the starting point of a regular cooperation that gave birth to various projects.
