On Board is an honest, modern version of the classic long table, with the addition of refined details and a high adaptability to a variety of needs. While fulfilling the basic task of being a practical dining table, On Board also takes the aspect of tolerances and accuracy in solid woodwork to a new level.
The highest possible flexibility is achieved by the 4 extension leaves that are made in two different widths. This means that pp850 can be extended from the initial 222cm to a maximum of 366cm in 26cm increments.

Thomas E. Alken mDD, graduated from the Danish Design School in 1997 and very soon after started his own design studio in Copenhagen. Since 2005 he has been head of the board for the Cabinetmakers Autumn Exhibition "SE" and he has been a member of the Professional Advisory Committee of Danish Designers mDD since 2007.
Alken still runs his own design studio in the centre of Copenhagen, working with furniture and product design, as well as doing design advisory for Danish and international clients. Alken describes his design studio as small but passionate, with broad expertise and big ambitions. "We believe in the power of a strong concept. Combined with a functional and beautiful form with focus on the human body and environment, our goal is to design relevant long lasting products. We optimise materials and manufacturing methods and keep a structured and open working progress".
