Frank Rettenbacher was born in Bregenz, Austria in 1979. He lives and works in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He graduated with honors in Industrial Design from Graz’s University of Applied Science. After designing for Audi in Ingolstadt he joined Philips Design in the Netherlands.
Here, working across numerous departments, his award-winning work has encompassed lighting, consumer electronics and strategic design. Since 2012 he is Creative Lead at Philips Television (TP Vision) and has designed the acclaimed ‘DesignLine’ glass TV.
This has received a Dutch Design Award and in 2014 won IF Gold. The product is also on display at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Additionally he works on his own projects; these focus upon furniture and figurative illustration. He has been working with Zanotta since 2014.
