The HALO seating system comes from the idea of mixing and matching different backrest
elements to create a variety of seating configurations, ranging from a single seat easychair, a public seating system, and a three-seat sofa that works well in different environments.
The main feature is a very large backrest that can provide additional comfort, but also increases privacy and improves acoustics without the need to close oneself in. The system is called ‘HALO’ because the backrest/headrest is reminiscent of a saint’s halo.
Skrivo is a Milan-based design consultancy that specialises in furniture and lighting design and works with manufacturers across Europe. In their projects they always try to consider the available manufacturing methods, and especially the materials. They constantly research new materials in order to create innovative products that achieve the perfect balance between form and function. The studio was founded in 2011 by the Croatian/Irish product designer Stefan Krivokapic.
