The Isadora chair is inspired by the grace of Isadora Duncan, pioneer of contemporary dance. Created by Roberto Lazzeroni, its original design is shaped by the seamless combination of wood and saddle-leather. The Isadora chair has a solid wood structure.
Nevertheless, it traces a sinuous and agile profile thanks to the expert work on its thicknesses. The saddle-leather upholstery totally envelops it and almost appears to fly. Skilful tailored stitching and cuts give it the appearance of a light dress. The sensation is airy yet solid and is the result of expert craftsmanship which, by subtraction, reduces the materials to the bare essentials and exalts their pure beauty. The Isadora chair project offers a highly modern interpretation of the forms of the past. Also available in a version with armrests, the structure of Isadora is made from solid ash in a Moka or Wengé stain. The upholstery is in clean cut Cuoio Saddle Extra leather, refined with protective dye and wax and underlined by contrast or tone-on-tone stitching.

Roberto Lazzeroni lives and works in his home town of Pisa. After completing studies in art and architecture in Florence, he chose conceptual art as his focus began creating work that had a more radical approach to design. In the early 1980s he took commission in both industrial and interior design, a specialisation he defines as fundamental to his overall practice. Today Roberto works in the business of design, art directing and shaping corporate identity. His studio is directly responsible for every aspect linked to the birth and development of a firm. At the same time he is also developing new furniture designs for the leading manufacturers in Europe, including Poltrona Frau.
