Based on a slender structure in satined stainless steel, the sophisticated Spring chair was designed by Erwan Bouroullec. The distinctive shell is made of rigid polyurethane foam with metal inserts, foam padding and feet in anthracite-coloured polyethylene.
The cover of the Spring chair is fixed and comes in a selection of fabrics and leathers from the collection; the seat can be personalized to reflect the buyer’s individual taste, by pairing different colours and fabrics for the front and back of the shell.
Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec were born in Quimper, France respectively in 1971 and 1976. As soon as Ronan graduated from the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs, he began working alone, progressively assisted by Erwan, still a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Cergy Pontoise. Their collaboration is a constant dialogue, nourished by their single identities and strived towards a common goal. They met Giulio Cappellini in 1997, while showing the Disintegrated Kitchen at the Salon du Meuble in Paris. This was the starting point of a regular cooperation that gave birth to various projects.
