Cult Design launches Reflect RAP

At Cult Design, we believe that reconciliation is a journey that requires listening, learning, and meaningful action. We are proud to announce the release of our new Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), developed in partnership with Reconciliation Australia and extending across our family of brands - including NAU, HAY, Cultivated, Mark Tuckey and Government Furniture.

This plan builds on the momentum of our first Reflect RAP, launched in 2023, which created space for reflection and greater awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures across our team. With this new RAP, we aim to deepen our understanding and strengthen our contribution by embedding reconciliation into the heart of our business.

Our Reflect RAP is guided by three key pillars: Relationships, Respect and Opportunities. These principles will shape how we work with our people, our communities and our partners, ensuring that reconciliation is integrated into every part of our operations.

As part of our commitment, we continue to engage with First Nations businesses, artists, and organisations. Over the past year, our Brisbane showroom has partnered with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, including Arabella Walker, whose works were previously on display as part of our six-month rotation program, and Tori-Jay Mordey, whose pieces are currently showcased in our space. We have also worked with First Nations owned suppliers to support our events and collaborated with Project Net Zero, a First Nations owned company that helps salvage and rehome furniture through sustainable pathways.

Education is another key focus. Many of our team have completed cultural awareness training, and we are encouraging ongoing discussion and learning through our RAP Working Group. Staff are also empowered to lead self-directed projects that align with our RAP goals, from building community partnerships to creating resources that support respectful engagement.

Looking Ahead

This Reflect RAP is only the beginning. It will lay the foundations for future initiatives that promote equality, strengthen relationships and celebrate the knowledge and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to learning more, doing more and engaging more deeply as we continue on this journey.
