Fashion, design and sustainability meet in Cappellini’s new Lud’o Lounge chair by Patricia Urquiola.
Named after the great Italian designer and mentor of Patricia Urquiola, Ludovico Magistretti, the new Lud’o Lounge from Cappellini is an armchair that crosses the boundaries of fashion and design. By recreating the enveloping comfort of a tailored jacket into a removable seat cover made from recycled PET bottles, Urquiloa delivers a highly sustainable design with incomparable comfort.
Consisting of a rigid and highly durable seat shell made from recycled PET plastic and an upholstered seat cover that can be easily put on and off the seat shell like a duvet jacket, the Lud’o Lounge is an innovative concept that gives a feeling of extreme comfort, softness and warmth. It connects to the emotional and physical senses by mimicking the sensation of being wrapped in a favourite garment.

by Patricia Urquiola.
Known for delivering surprising designs that combine formalism, femininity, versatility and functionality, Urquilola is an award winning designer who has collaborated with the best design brands in the world. With her new Lud’o Lounge, Urquiola intertwines her own experimental design approach while reflecting the signature Cappellini DNA.
The upholstered removable cover, which is derived from sustainable materials including vegetable wool and eco-fibers, is designed to be a wearable object that can be changed based on season, occasion or context. A thick and warm and corduroy may be used in winter, whilst a cooler nylon may be the cover of choice in Summer, for example.
Fashionable yet timeless and full of personality, Lud’o is not simply an armchair, it is a reflection of a new way of living.
